European Bug-In 5 for air-cooled Volkswagens will take place at Chimay International Raceway in Belgium over the weekend of 28 – 30 June.
Chimay, just a few kilometres from the French border and approximately 90 km (60 miles) south of Brussels, is a small town famous for its Monk Beer brewery and its legendary racetrack which is almost 90 years old. The venue gives the chance for all passionate European Volkswagen enthusiasts to relive the original Bug-In vibe but this time closer to home.
The Original Bug-In saga started way back in 1968 on the American west coast and it quickly grew into the major VW event and continued for 15 years. Today, the Bug-In name has legendary status and is continued in Europe on Belgian soil under the European Bug-In flag and is now in its fifth year.
The European version of the Bug-In was conceived with the approval and support of Richard Kimball, one of the original Californian Bug-In promoters.
