In Europe it looks like we get the virus under control, still a lot of measures apply and people think the virus is gone don’t realize new patients every day being hospitalized. It’s like saying You do not exist, thanks God numbers are under control.

The rest of the world suffer way worse… news reach us from states in USA with huge numbers and also South America is going bad, especially Brasil, where Covid-19 kill over a thousand people a day last couple of days… in China and several other countries they get the “second wave” interpret as “the return of the terminator”.

The virus is here to stay…. with us… between us… people that think it don’t exist are not looking in the mirror every morning, the Corona virus do exist and it’s in between us now! We better adapt!

Our first thoughts are still with all victims of this terrible disease and their families. Giving up a close friend or relative must be hard when you can’t say goodbye in decent way, unimaginable except when you’re in the middle of it.

One and another results in a heavily disrupted world trade… some containers in Brasil been postponed over 4 weeks in ports like Santos or Paranaguá, simply because crew of vessels can’t be getting off board or changed, infected or not and vessels have to wait outside the port.

Demurrage costs are in the millions now and no port authorities seems to give up… crazy world we’re living in!
Yesterday we finally got confirmation two of “our” containers been loaded aboard at Santos port for their trek to Europe, happy us!

Be sure our purchase dept. running overtime in order to get here what we (or You) need!

All problems aside we have some new launches also this week and the split window cab doors are a Big Bang, to everybody we suppose! Finally a good alternative for a perfect restoration!

BBT Split window bus cab doors arrived!!
BBT’s Silver Weld Through program stepped up and tooled up for the cab doors.

Over three years of development, tooling, trimming, testing, adjustments and final details.
It was a big lesson for all of us, factory included.

A door for a split window bus has a lot of secrets you would not think of by just looking at it!
The main issue was the fitting (off course) in the bus and how Volkswagen used to adjust these doors in the bus back in the day.

We discovered that, for perfect door alignment, the outer hinges must be plied into correct position.
Every bus is different!

To help with that we supply the outer hinges separately for easy fit and more reachable adjustment.
We made the doors to factory spec, as all of our Silver Weld Through sheet metal parts.

The development took longer than we wanted because we did not want to give up on quality.
Now the production is running and we’re happy we took baby steps the whole way.

We’d especially like to thank our factory workers and engineers for their endless patience to reach the goal we all wanted.

Three models of doors to choose from:

BBT # 0158-210 & 0159-210 for the 1955 up to 1959 model years, these also fit ALL Brazilian Kombi -75

BBT # 0158-220 & 0159-220 for the 1960-1963 model years, with the recessed door handle hole. (Coming soon, reservations accepted)

BBT # 0158-230 & 0159-230 for the 1964-1967 model years.(Coming soon, reservations accepted)

There is a lot of difference in engine cooling tin.
People long enough in the scene discovered for sure the differences between single and dual port engines, doghouse oil cooler tin and things like that.

Also pulley tin has several variations. We think we found an important missing link with our new BBT # 2211-110

Our new pulley tin is wider as our long time existing BBT #  2211-1 and apply perfectly with our rear engine tin BBT # 2250-150 for the upright Bay window bus engine, and off course for several applications for the beetle engines.

2211-110 Tin behind pulley wide – black

We also have received our steering column clamp for beetles up to 1967.
These clamp literally holds your steering column to your body.

We brought those in after we ran out of all of our used ones.
Many times missing on long term projects, they never go bad, but many times lost.

They come with their rubber buffer what’s also available separately under BBT # 1370-003

1370-055 Bushing with clamp upper steering column – Beetle -07/67

Received this pictures and movie from a Brazilian company who made a set of 3D printed carburetors for a VW engine.

Nothing in production, but just was so cool to look at what progress is be made since the time Henry Ford made his first carburetor from two canned cans…

I thought this was real cool to share with all of you…

Technology is unstoppable…:)

How many parts for our VW’s will we print soon??????
