Distinctive Campervan Stolen
Images of a stolen VW campervan have been released in the hope it will help track down the vehicle.
Thieves took the brown and white restored campervan from The Sycamores, St Neots, between 3pm on Sunday 24 February and 4pm the following day.
It is believed that the distinctive vehicle may have been stolen to order.
Detective Constable Dan Cooper, investigating, said: “This is a very distinctive vehicle which the owners spent a lot of time and effort restoring.
“They are obviously devastated that it has been stolen and I would urge anyone who knows where it may be to call police.”
Anyone with any information should call DC Cooper on 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
Last week we managed to get some nice Karmann Ghia’s for sale online. This small overview might be helpful to become fully up-to-date.
This cool car left the factory in 1970 and was sold in sunny (and dry!) Texas, where it resided its whole life. In 1981 the previous owner turned in at the local Vw dealer in profit of a newer model Vw. The dealer, a true visionair, had plans, unfortunately the plans stayed a pie in the sky and the car was, rather by coincidence, discovered by us in the late fall 2012 and shipped to Europe accordingly
Under a thick layer of dust after 31 years of storage this baby need a thorough clean, believe me! What appeared from under the thick film of dusted and other saved dirty stuff is what you see here, a real honest car with only very little work, ready to fulfill some of your wildest Ghia dreams….
11 Years of service is nothing compared to other Ghia’s on the market today and that clearly shows off. This cutie is rock solid under and above except for the small damage to the front right fender.

Sold brand new in 1970 in the beautiful Pampas Yellow color this cutie had a rear end collision in 1976, put aside waiting for on repair, the last never happened until today….
Years of service is nothing compared to other Ghia’s on the market today and that clearly shows off. This cutie is rock solid under and above except for the damage to the rear right fender. We put the fender back in line with the rest of the body, but replacing will be necessary for proper result. We can supply necessary parts for sure. We changed the engine lid already with a very good example from our stocks, coincidentally the exact same body color. That was a strike!
