Every two year the VW Speedwell guys from the bay area in California do the trek south to the Vintage Volkswagen Club of America gathering in Solvang…
I had the honour this year to drive in the back with my truck and trailer as the sweeper car… luckily I didn’t have a load at the end, that means no break downs…
They drive the very rural Highway 25 over Hollister, something should do in your life as its closest You can come how Central California should have looked like a 100 years ago… very Californian!!
With a brief stop in Mission San Miguel, one of the best kept missions along the El Camino Real…
To arrive in Solvang, a kind of Danish city in the heart of California (between Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo)
Solvang lives the Danish life and everything they do breathe a lot of Denmark, off course its super touristic!
They even have a Belgian breakfast place, guess we’re we will have breakfast?
A small teaser for the show of tomorrow….
Stay tuned for the full show report of the Solvang meet!

Welcome to our weekly newsletter… BBT News… soon the new name for our weekly Friday product update !
Being busy is good and we received a lot of new items and filled our stocks with existing items… we’re ready for a real exciting fall!
For the T25/T3 Vanagon with Diesel engines we have now a brand new oil sump. The oil sumps from te diesel models are not made of steel, which make them rather fragile. The reason they’ve been made from a softer material is for a better cooling of course.
Many times the oil sump is rather cracked in places or the drain plug gallery is all worn out. Our new pans solve both of these problems!
We strongly advise to tighten the oil drain plug to torque as the manual prescribe. This in order to maximize the life spam of your oil sump.
Our oil sump is also needed when you decide to upgrade your T25/T3 vanagon to a later engine conversion out of another model from the Volkswagen range (like the very popular TDI versions) this because the engine in the back of the bus is mounted under a certain angle.

We have the alternator for your Type 4 engine ready from the shelves now. Seems to work all fine and survived our rather rough test program. Finally a good solution for your charging program at a real good price.

Because of popular demand we brought back these lowered spindles for late bay window bus (or to convert earlier buses)
One piece forged for the perfect job.
With the right parts, you can use these on earlier buses too and get your bus converted for disc brakes at once… For split window buses you will need a 68-69 front axle and trailing arms, for early bay they’re pug and play. Of course all further necessary disc brake parts are available all from your favourite BBT dealer.
