We still see quiet a few Volkswagens in daily traffic at the West coast, and also some nice views, here I group another couple of my favorite pics from this trip…

Californian traffic is very busy, especially around the big cities, the intersections and bridges there for are impressive, and I must say traffic get’s better every time they adjust the freeway someplace, the solutions are crazy innovative, we could learn a lot in Europe from Carpool lane’s and such…

and in the middle of that crazy traffic there is still that Volkswagen, You see cruizin’ them down the roads… a lot are still daily drivers… people just seem can’t given up…

even Baja bug’s in daily use… I kind a like to snap them to my picture book…

and another one, just Bug’s nothing special, but giving You a feeling from “welcome home”…

and yes also that odd early beetle is still in use…

Further up between Gilroy and San Jose its kind a hilly, but still cool!

Arriving at my friend Mark … when i see the blue Beetle on the corner I always know I reached my goal… for over ten years i do come here, that beetle is always there… always telling Hi! to me…:)

Downtown Orange at a local antique shop is the VW sign of Super VW Magazine…:)

Right across the street a typical Bar… note that a cafe is a place You can eat in contradiction to Europe, and a Bar is to go for a drink (and not for pretty ladies as in Belgium that want only drink champagne out of you)  we do love the neon signs on this type of businesses, always nice to look at and so much fifties reminding…

ok let’s have late lunch at Wahoo’s, a typical surf café…. very welcome to everybody…

Cool posters, I only mentioned the two police officers in the corner after i took the pictures, oeps… but they didn’t mind too much, at least they didn’t put me in jail…:)

Right across Wahoo’s in downtown Orange is still Plaza Muffler, the guys from the crazy shortened VW bus, the bus is at an other outlet, but signs everywhere…:)

as we all can see the fifties are gone, but the lifestyle stays, USA is different, don’t call it any better, but for sure a lot of fun to visit somewhere…
