One of our notable customers used to come by weekly, but lately we were sending by carrier, so it was good to see him again @ BBT HQ picking up his order as he had to deliver a car anyway… Thanks Jack, we do appreciate your business fully!
Meanwhile, some of these parts might have been used to bring back aircooled VW’s to the roads. That is what keeps us going…
8 oktober 2011 - Inside BBT
Our very last visit in China was South east, in the factory choosen to cooperate with our 1303 (superbeetle for the US readers) dashboard project.
After all this years of talking, and trying, finally a first pre mould sample in my hands, I think nobody ever felt what I felt on this very moment…. we still have a loooong way to go, and my prediction is for sure another 12 to 24 months before production, but at least we’re working on it and made progress! Now that was a whole thing in this project. I have to make sure once they come on the market they’re at least better as original!
When we call a meeting, we call a meeting! Project team leader Jack, Engeneer Peng, project assistent Denica, and sales Aaron, my direct contact, it was hot, and loooooong, but we’re on the same level now, everybody is ready for the next step… its good to feel tired when You worked hard!
Now this is a tooling factory the Chinese way in 2011, most machines are CNC offcourse, workers are called “operators” here! Almost all with university degree!
anybody familiar with spark erosion cutting (EMD) will be kind a surprised about this machine, and it was not the only one, wowh, for sure it impressed me!
The most important for high pressure molding systems, the polishing room, every single part is here polished in side out, and into the most small corners… wowh, talking about dedicated workers…
also larger toolings get their part of the job! but they’er hard to fit the polishing room, so they’ve been handled outside, mainly close to the injection machines.
BBT’s buddy Mr.Aaron “toolingmaker” and me, ready for many more projects in near future! Now I saw the capacity I know what they can do for us!
China, a country of contradictions, big time, modern factory while on the street You bump in continuously to tradition, I thought these two lady’s looked cute!
By train and underground (MTR they call it here) to Hong Kong city. Everything they tell You about Hong Kong underground is true! Especially how many people they move a minute. I think I will pass next time during rush hour!!!
