22 january 2021 - NEW

What a week it was…

Plenty to taste from…:)

The USA have a new president, or shall we say they have a president now…. I wonder how this will weigh down on global trade and stock markets.

The Brexit saga continues, or as one of our UK distributors states it, they made a trade agreement on December 31 for us to work it all out on January 1st.

Nobody seems to know what to do and only few shipments arrived where they belonged… Finally, this week it starts moving better…. Whatever stupid politicians do or say, UK should stay EU trade partner number ONE, same level as Switzerland and Norway, that is. We simply belong to each other…

Enough politics… let’s talk VW parts;

And also in VW parts we moved up a couple of notches this week.

As many as three containers with the Silver Weld Through metal came in these days, that was a new record… normally we get 2 containers every three weeks, this year we will upscale to hopefully one container a week… if possible, because shipping out of the Far east is just one big mess at this moment. For those of you unaware, when we paid last year between 3 and 3500 US$ for a 40 container we pay now triple and I hear companies paid already up to 12.000US$ for the same container. Forecast is things will slow down (slowly) from second half of February, and prices will come down with that… we surely hope.

We decided  NOT to calculate these transport prices into our sales prices yet. For now we just swallow and hope things get better soon (as this is expensive for us). We wait and see what happens in second half of February. If things will not change by then we will have to adjust our Far East import prices by roughly 20% and unfortunately the Silver Weld Through by 30% to make it still profitable to keep operating. So if you need SWT metal, you better buy it now, it will not become any cheaper….:)

This week we have some new parts as well, exciting parts, at least for us. So come on in and enjoy with us!

Mainly we launch always the early model of certain parts first. This has to see with our most beloved Bus model year 1958. This time however we made it upside down, we launch first the cargo floor above the engine compartment for the late model split window bus.

This rear cargo floor fits as a factory panel and is at least as good, A perfect addition to our Silver Weld Through program.

0890-934 Cargofloor rear – Bus 08/63-07/67

After we launched the complete cargo doors for Brazilian Kombi and German built Barn Doors (click HERE)  we now add some repair panels too for these doors, if you prefer to keep and repair your original door. You can repair your cargo door almost to perfection with these repair panels. Sharping your welding skills at once.

For 55-67 buses we stock these lower cargo door parts HERE

0890-41A-1 Inter skin loading door rear – Bus Brasil -75

0890-41V-1 Inter skin loading door front – Bus Brasil -75

The heating of our beloved buses is fairly easy made by blowing the overflow of cooling air over your exhaust and transport this warm air by a big round tube under your car to the driver’s cabin to heat up your feet.
Under your bus this big hot air transportation tube is open to all elements. The only way to operate your heating system for maximum efficiency is to isolate your big hot air transportation tube.
VW factory made a very special insulation jacket for these heater transportation tubes, therefore we decided to bring them into our program in a perfect reproduction. The material used comes very close to original and believe us when we say that the underside of your bus looks so much more professionally restored when these insulation is installed. A must have for simply every bus!

The early model up to 1963 we stock already longer time and can be found HERE all later models we  stock now too.

1098-510 Heating insulation tube set – Bus 08/63-08/64

1098-520 Heating insulation tube set – Bus 09/64-07/67

1098-530 Heating insulation tube set – Bus 08/67-07/71

The BBT News team wishes you a wonderful weekend, sweet dreams and good relaxed to start next week a new exciting week… because in our VW world, there’s never a dull moment…. ENJOY!
