My friend Larry from North California is looking for a new house for his 1957 Low Light, as Larry is a racer he needs more money to put in his race car, so the vintage has to go for the speed, maybe your gain?
Larry bought the car about three years ago.
The car has always lived in California and Arizona so there is no rust.
The car runs and drives great, Larry drove it to a few shows here in California and it always took home a trophy.
The engine was rebuilt about 3000 miles ago and powder coated tin was installed. The exhaust is a Flat Four Abarth copy. Larry put in a fresh rebuilt split case transmission 2000 miles ago.
New king and link pins and new steering box were installed on the front end. The steering wheel, gas gauge and speedometer were restored and a NOS clock was installed. New windshield wipers and arms were installed. The car is still 6 volt and all the lights and turn signals work properly.
The paint was done about ten years ago, but still shows very well.
There is some points that still need attention, and we don’t like to hide them for You…. . The horns are not hooked up and the heater is not working properly (who needs a heater in California…:) both small details…
Another negative is there is traces of an old collision in the spare wheel well, nothing bad, just how they used to repair stuff in the early days… also the floor under the battery was patched instead of repaired..
For sure this beauty got its price… but its a lot of car too, all further information only on email to Bob@BBT4vw.com
This June we think back automatically on the amazing June from last year…. Open House, Hessisch Oldendorf and European Bug In, a spicy VW cocktail of only “the best”… some american friends stayed with us for three weeks, a real pilgrimage, we made them so buddies for life…
I stumbled across a picture last year and thought it was fun to show it to you all…
