4 december 2012 - Meetings

Wowh, Sunday night I drove into some terrible weather in the North of Spain… I was so happy i reached the border with France and found myself a nice hotel in Biaritz…. cool city!

Monday morning I updated computer and email and left for a drive through the South West of France… an area where my mom and dad took me for summer holidays several times, maybe therefor I kind a like it there….

Long straights….

I stopped for lunch, hey Gonzo look!

after lunch  I drove further up North east, direction of Angouleme and Limoges…. my destination of the day…. again i hit bad weather…

just before dark I arrived at destination, no trip through this side of France can be completed without a mandatory stop at my friends Sylvie and PP, and their  “Godfather” Gerard… Vintage import, one of the coolest shops in France!

rows of cool cars…

and more,…..

Vintage import is also a major VW distributor!

PP was so kind to show me around in the area… and we drove to the new body shop specialising in Vintage Volkswagen’s, from Thomas and Remi, remember these names! We will hear from those guys, they’re serious ready and especially motivated to attack VW market seriously, well from BBT we wish them all the success we can! Get it going guys, your heart is at the right rhythm!

3 december 2012 - Random

so Sunday morning we unloaded the split and loaded the new piece a candy to take home… what a story!

a sunny Sunday morning, a perfect timing to take the BBT Spain team in all three generations, may I present you my very best buddy’s, these are the guys that keep the aircooled crew in Spain rollin’…. ladyies an gentlemen, here’s Jan, Steve and Luca!

But what’s on the trailer now?

SP2’s been made in Brazil, as German marketeers thought it might have been way too much competitive against the VW Porsche 914 they never been officialy imported into Europe… except into the Spanish Islands, Tenerife, Gran Canarias and the like. For one reason or another they had straight connections with VW do Brazil. So this is a real European SP2! and yes this car will be for sale in Belgium from Wednesday on…. to me, personally, the SP2 is one of the finest designs VW ever made and that’s final….

Loaded and ready to go….

just nice from every angle, a perfect late sixties designer study, a child of its time, think Miura, think straight low lines, the new generation of sports cars was born, and clearly VW of Brazil designers took their lesson well! so nice from every angle!

So we are all ready to go home? NO! my name shouldn’t be Bob to do some things “on the side” while I’m overhere anyway…:)

Let’s drive a little more south, to a little place call “Bullas” its not so far from “Caravaca” deep south inland Spain…. ready to leave?

so on the raod again, 140 km down South for a small VW show, always fun to meet and greet the locals……

cool to see Vw’s cruisin’ on the inland Spanish roads…;

as always Spanish people know how to trow a party!

 Chocolata….. njammie….

oh yes, show your colors, even deep in Spain….

a car sold by BBT Spain a couple of moons ago….

so lunchtime came and went and it was time to say goodbye, some serious driving ahead of me, and I want to reach the border with France tonight… always have the impressions hotel parking lots been better protected in France as Spain….

driving inland Spain has a lot in common like driving in the USA…. Spain is definitely not over populated…..:)

il Torro, these typical sixties and seventies road signs been all restored now to former glory, they’re huge,  should take one home one day….lol!

How could I know what bad weather was ahead of me…. stay tuned…..

2 december 2012 - customers

All collapsed with time and dates, so I had to leave pretty unforeseen South, so I hooked up a trailer, loaded the 1950 ragtop split for my buddy Steve and off we went… “we”??? actually only “me”…:)

another  back and forth “South” adventure… somewhere on a hotel parking lot down the road…

I stopped at Stephane from Autopassion just South of Lyon, but didn’t took pictures, it was freezin’ cold over there! I want to thank Stephane and his team extremely well for all help received to repair my trailer lights…

45min further south I stopped at Seb’s “Barn Shop”, if You ever drive South, this is worth more then a visit, only to see the quantity’s! strictly VW’s, and yes I have to say Seb gives many of the real death VW’s a new life!

I’m afraid this is death too much for a quick resto…:)

The man himself with the 55 patina oval he recently bought from me,  back then it came straight from a barn, now he drives it! cool ride Seb, and thanks again for the coffee!

After Seb, I drove little more south east to our long time friend and customer Pierre from E-Cox, I will never forgive myself I didn’t take a picture from the dinner his lovely wife prepared, DAMN! how could I forget, ok Pierre, this means I have to come back soon and we have to do it all over again!!!! I enjoyed my visit so much!

along the road in Spain, I spotted this kids ride in a road side restaurant (that served the worst burgers on planet Earth!) to me this is very educative training for kids!…:)

Autoroute de Soleil its calls, well sunset was absolutely  marvelous, about half an hour I had more beautiful views as anyone, except it start raining short after, typically, it rains when I’m in Spain!

Steve and Jan did a extreme great job! this is BBT Spain, pictures from the freeway! not too bad huh!

arrived sound and well….1950 km from home… ready for unload, shower, and the obligatory drinks and food before heading for bed! tomorrow we will carry another load, and drive even more South! Curious???? Stay tuned…. BBT’s on the road…. again!
