Working on our own cars is always inspiring.
Our 1957 Karmann Ghia Low light has a 356 engine since the sixties.
During rebuild and dyno testing we decided to control fuel supply as it should.
More than happy with the results we decided to commercialize our set up.
Fuel pressure regulating should be standard on any engine with dual carburation.
We always start the idea that fuel today is extremely poor in quality.
A 100% correct fuel supply is mandatory for a perfect carburation with poor fuel.
A correct fuel supply is necessary for a smooth-running engine.
We digged high and low in our aim for a best possible set up.
Today we present you the results of that research.
All components we use on our own engines are now available through our dealer network.
Welcome to the BBT News.
1689-105 Fuel pressure regulator adjustable ”Filter King’
1689-200 Fuel pressure gauge / manometre 0-1bar (0-14psi) ‘Filter King’
1689-210 Adapter fuel pressure gauge to regulator ‘Filter King’
1689-215 Adapter fuel pressure gauge “in-line” for 8mm line ‘Filter King’
1689-220 Blanking plug adapter fuel pressure gauge ‘Filter King’
1689-225 Fuel line fitting 8mm ‘Filter King’
Dual carburetor set ups require correct fuel pressure, for best results.
Especially original configurations like old speed and Porsche 356 engines need a correct fuel pressure to perform flawlessly.
Also every Volkswagen boxer engine with Solex, Weber or Dell’Orto dual carburetor set up require fuel pressure control for perfect results.
Even carbureted Porsche 911 engines can benefit from a correct adjusted fuel pressure.
Correct fuel pressure makes your engine runs smoother, consume less, idle better and breath more happy.
Good fuel pressure regulators also prevent extensive needle pin wear in your carburetors.
Needle pins are adjuster needles, not shutter valves!
Too much fuel pressure will always give problems, one way or another, or mostly all possible ways together!
BBT’s reliable Dyno man only work with King fuel pressure regulators (without filter) for the best results. He tested many…
Our BBT # 1689-105 fuel pressure regulator is especially set up for applications with dual carbureted aspirated engines.
Some specs;
Compatible with alcoholed fuel (E85)
Diameter 67 mm
1 x INLET port,1/8″ NPT
1 x OUTLET port,1/8″ NPT
Supplied with bracket and bolts for easy fitting
For carburetor applications only.
Not suitable for high pressure injection pumps/system
Most dual carbureted cars from the BBT collection use BBT # 1689-105 fuel pressure regulator set up with BBT # 1689-200 fuel gauge, a BBT # 1689-210 T-connector
bolted directly to the fuel pressure regulator and 2 BBT # 1689-225 8mm fuel line pilots with 1/8 NPT tread all bolted together.
We recommend a BBT # 1689-220 blank plug to replace fuel pressure gauge for long drives. KING factory recommends fuel pressure gauges for setting pressure ONLY.
We recommend strongly to place a serious fuel filter BEFORE the fuel pressure set up.
A fuel filter after the fuel pressure regulator set up can cause serious pressure falls.
We have negative experiences with fuel pressure regulators with incorporated fuel filters.
Hence we do strongly recommend for separate units.
Install the fuel pressure regulator AFTER your fuel filter.
Keep your VW breath happily!
High and low, deep, and deeper.
We searched the world for our most popular BBT clip.
No factory was able to supply for a fair price after Covid anymore…
Rising energy cost and inflation given to us as main reasons for extensive price rises.
Never happy we decided to “dive” in clips technology and start our own production.
After design, set up and testing we are happy to show our results.
We supply a clip that says a nice “clack” to your molding at mounting.
Also, it holds your molding firm to the body of your car.
We produced extreme massive quantities to get good pricing.
Resulting in a nice clip for a correct cost.
Nicely packed in bags of 50pcs makes this an easy wholesale product.
