8 march 2024 - NEW

Most of our developments start when we do not find what we need, or are tired of what exists.
To see with quality or availability, sometimes unreasonable prices are igniting us.

Building a network for over 30 years helps choosing suppliers and manufacturers.
We try to keep our Volkswagen hobby as economical as we can.

Every week we publish three of our latest developments and some updates.
Welcome to the BBT News.

Bus IRS stub axles holding your CV joint on one side and your brake drum on the other.
Early bay windows with wide five (5 x 205) bolt pattern have longer stub axles than their later brothers.

Sky rocketing prices for used ones made us producing the early axles ourselves.
Same time we produced a batch of late model (shorter) ones to reach quantities necessary to keep prices down.

Original Volkswagen (NOS) stub axles for late model HERE

1478-610 Stub axle rear ‘IRS’ – Bus 08/70-07/92 BBT

These manifold ends connect your central manifold with your dual port cylinder heads.
We scored these out of remaining stocks from VW Mexico.

Made for 1600cc engines, they will fit your 1300cc dual port engines as well.
We sell by the pair, one left and a right together.

2109-620 Intake manifold ends 1600cc – Type1 (pair) – OE

A front brake drum from a 64-67 bus is remarkably close to a front brake drum from a 68-70 early bay window.
The only difference is the outer diameter from the grease seal that keeps the grease in your wheel bearings.

We now offer  this 64 x 50 x 8mm grease seal to mount a late split drum to an early bay window car.
BBT #1287 and  BBT #1287-01 front brake drum uses this 64mm outer diameter seal to fit both, 64-67 split window bus and your early 68-70 early bay window bus.

1359-015 Grease seal front wheel bearing, brake drum 64-67 on 68-70 – Bus 08/67-07/70

We received a huge shipment from out SWT factory with several backorders.

BBT News Team wish esyou a splendid weekend,
Do we see you at the Ninove start of the season show on Sunday?

1 march 2024 - NEW

March 1 or shall we say Mach 1?
It looks like the entire world is accelerating.

Accelerating on fast speed comparable to Mach 1.
Supersonic speed, faster as sound, comes with a bang.

BBT parts and developments come with a bang too.
One bang for release, another bang for the bucks on your money.

Words are easy to say. Parts are difficult to make.
Every week we give you our new launches.

Better parts, new parts, updated parts.
We simply do it.

Welcome to BBT news.

Split window double cabs are cool cats.
Now we bring the rocker panel under the right-side rear cab door.

Brake shoes changed in January of 1954 (bus in 1955)
The early brake shoes need a different type of brake adjusting screw.

The main difference is the surface slit in the screw where the brake shoe comes.
Early brake shoes need a straight contact surface for the brake shoe in the adjusting screw.

Later models adjusting screws the contact surface is under an angle or “inclined”.
The brake shoes are just opposite.

Early brake shoes have two same inclined ends top and bottom.
Later brake shoes have an inclined side on top and straight side at the bottom.

We experienced many parts mixed up in many cars.
If you ever wondered why brakes on your early car are impossible to adjust correctly this might be one of the reasons.

Volkswagen books give different applications front and rear, bus and beetle.
Cars being that old and brakes repaired multiple times BBT suggests that is better to pair the adjusting screws with your type of brake shoes than working on parts no. or applications only.

Correct early brake shoes are in the works and will be finished shortly.
BBT loves early cars, they deserve correct parts.

Bus tailgate hinge covers are a wisdom on their own.
Split window buses 1964-1967 have smooth surface tailgate hinge covers and Bay windows covers are structured ones.

Also the shape between the two models are different.

BBT is proud that we figured out the right and wrongs to supply now correct tailgate hinge covers.
Originally not UV resistant makes this brittle and often prone to crumbling.

BBT tailgate hinge covers  come in a high-grade UV resistant ABS.
Now with new competitive pricing and even nicer quantity discounts.

Check us out!

23 february 2024 - Random

Western Europe is soaked.
We can’t remember when it was more wet than today.

Farmers land, wood lands, water everywhere…
However, mild temperatures awake nature early.

The early natural life of the year.
Our Volkswagens seem to wake up as well.

Looking for a new season, new adventures.
Finishing that restoration, hunkering for road trips.

We feel the vibe, do you?
Let us help you with more and better parts  to keep that vibe alive.

Welcome to the BBT News.

Never mentioned in the books but found and questioned by several people on their bus.
It is this mystery ring we bring you today.

Made after an original model.
We assume this ring was ment to eliminate the play or vibrations between lock and body,

Original mounted from the factory, only for a brief time.
Even it has a VW part no. molded in but never mentioned in any year parts book.

But it is here, it is cool, it’s functional and looks good.
This ring goes between our lock BBT # 0429-450 and its seal BBT # 0723-095

If you want perfection, BBT is your partner.

Nobody brings you more correct body parts than BBT.
We decided it was time to bring back the “diamond cut” bumpers.

That is right, split window buses had a change in bumpers for the last three years of production.
After the pressed bumpers Volkswagen came out with larger stronger bumper on the bus in 1959.

Named slash cut after the slash character on your keyboard.
For the 1966 model year Volkswagen changed the end of that bumper to a small point named it diamond cut.

Nobody ever reproduced the diamond cut bumper before, but BBT does now.
Deep draw stamped on one piece cast tooling in our Silver Weld Through factory.

Finished in a decent coat of L82 Silver White correct for most buses.
More diamond cut Splitty bus bumpers from BBT productions in silver white color coming soon.

After the OE stamping plant lowered their quality on these bus floorplates, we had a tough job to turn that around.
We had to convince them to bring them back in 0.9mm thickness, as they used to stamp them for VW originally.

A bunch of email, video, and PM’s later we finally got a go for the production.
Now they feel back to normal, stiff, and strong.

We do appreciate the feedback from our customers/distributors in the quest to bring this quality back to OE levels.
Without that feedback nothing would have changed.

Now for all of us back to enjoy in 0.9mm thickness, exactly like original.
Thank you, guys!
