10 pictures to drool away!
Happy Sunday!
Welcome to our weekly Newsletter, and what a week it was!
We never ever received more goods as this week, not even close.
It was like all manufacturers, ports, vessels and customs cooperated and delivered all shipments together in just one week.
We decided to bring you this week a couple of important product updates, existing products from our range but with an important update.
For next week we like to ask you to buckle up and keep seated as there will be coming a fountain of new products towards you.
Release that clutch!
What a car would be without a clutch?
Better use a good clutch from a well-known brand in our opinion.
After three years of negotiations, we’ve been able to move the management of Sachs Brazil to make a private production for BBT.
Some tooling was worn out, some had to be remade…
We worked closely together with engeneering and production departments and succeeded.
We’re proud to present today two most popular clutch discs and both model 200mm Clutch mechanisms/ pressure plates received on our shelves.
We keep on working with the factory on more models.
Sachs is a big factory with many levels, but we managed to find the level that helped us very well and are graceful for that.
For this project we like to thank especially Marcello and Gustavo to make this happen, for us and for all Volkswagen enthusiast with us.
Please check on our prices and remember the quality.

We had also a delivery of our oil pumps for 6mm studs.
Until 1967 Volkswagen used 6mm studs to mount the oil pump in your engines.
Later models shifted to 8mm studs.
The bolt circle differs for oil pumps with 6 or 8mm stud holes.
The bolt circle can be most easily described as the distance from the center of the pump housing to the stud holes.
For 6mm stud pumps is the bolt circle slightly smaller as for later models.
Most aftermarket pumps do not carry the correct bolt circle on 6mm stud pumps.
These pumps are BBT private production, another BBT exclusive!
BBT # 1805-07 Oil pump standard 25/30hp (36SAE)
BBT # 1805-08 Oil pump standard 1200cc 60-07/67 (34DIN/40SAE)
A draglink is the tie rod that connects the steering box to the central pitman arm on your front axle.
We have two models one for split we talk about here and one for bay window that can be found under BBT # 1338-1
As our old supplier always struggled to fulfill our orders we traced another manufacturer who not only promised us to keep up production, but also had a remarkable better price. Our first trial order came in and was to our total satisfaction.
We do have a large stock order in production as well already what will ship in a couple of weeks…
Check out new quantity pricing.

This stud is screwed on the bottom of your crankcase and together with the dome nut BBT # 1857 secures the oil sump plate on the Type 1 engine.
Often the thread at the end of these studs is damaged by over-tightening of the nuts and the best solution is to replace them with new ones.
We recommend using a thread locker to keep the stud in place.
For 25-30 DIN HP (That’s 36 SAE), 6 studs are needed, for the later type 1 engines 5 + 1 longer one BBT # 8721-06-035 to secure the oil pickup tube in the crankcase.
This last stud is also used on the single port cylinder heads to secure the intake manifold
Features an Allen key head for easy install/removal.
These studs are sold each.
8721-06-020 – Sump plate stud, M6 x 20 DIN 913 – Type 1 engine
8721-06-035- Intake manifold stud, Oil pick up tube stud M6 x 35 Din 913 – Type 1 engine
The next seals are used to keep the grease in the front axle after installing the suspension arms on a Beetle, Karmann Ghia 08/65- and Type181.
They prevent dirt and moisture from getting into the front beam.
The latter has rather destructive consequences on the front axle needle bearings, bushings and suspension arm running surfaces.
Cracked or hardened seals should always be replaced immediately.
The 2 larger ones at the bottom (VW 131 405 129) replace the lower ones for the Type3 08/64-.
BBT decided to start its own production because we couldn’t find any reproduction that had a good soft lip fits around the suspension arm.
All the reproductions we tested before had a rubber lip that was too hard and would cause premature wear.
So BBT tooled up to ensure a better quality seal just like the original.
All our suspension arm seals been sold as a set of 4.
Suspension arm seals for early model beetle, and buses can be found HERE
1372 – Suspension arms seals – Beetle/Karmann Ghia 08/65-, Type 181, Type 3 08/64- lower
To close this news we like to highlight another quality reproduction part made by BBT.
These exhaust tip for your late model split window bus are often rusted as they sit just under the bumper.
Literally they take all road dirt and rain spray your bus throw up.
With a dual radius very short behind each other it’s simply impossible to make those modern tube benders.
We make these exhaust tips the good old fashioned way by hand, with a lot of loving labor involved by real craftsmen!
A perfect replacement for those in love with the unique original sound of original Split window bus engine music.
1066-020 – exhaust tip – Type 2 07/59-07/67

They used all imaginable transport systems available… back in the day…
