Not very clear but nice enough to show you a Ghia in the crusher or a couple of buses that served as parts bins….
Watch carefully and check details….
Very welcome at the last BBT News of the year.
And what a year it was…
A roller coaster year, with more upside down as straight forward, but hey, all what doesn’t kill us makes us stronger, right?
For the Classic Car industry it was a very good year for most of us and I guess it was especially good for Classic Volkswagen professionals in particular.
We, here @ BBT HQ, surfed a good wave for sure!
First and most important, we had the luck not to get too much virus in our company. We could stay open whole year through.
Secondly, we’re very thankful for the opportunities given by our customers and distributors.
We worked even harder with more investments as ever in several parts of the company. Infrastructure, IT and of course our parts program.
Never before we had so many parts in development. Never before we had so many deposits open for new tooling. Never before we’ve been so busy…
So please accept a very warm Thank You to all of you who helped to reach these goals and helped us to walk these paths to make us ready to enter a new spectacular year….
On the lookout for other parts we found a manufacturer that made these “underyourshifter spring” for the assembly lines at Volkswagen plant in VW do Brasil when they still had our beloved Kombi on the assembly lines!
Because we know nothing beats original, (or about) we stock these springs now in the OE quality.
Replace that old scruffy, bent and lame spring under your shifter with this brand new super spring made from super fresh strong spring steel from highest grade.
Exactly as per Volkswagen prescriptions…

In our Oil Pump family we now add the correct oil pump for 25 & 30DIN HP (that’s 36 SAE for our American brothers) engines. These oil pumps have the correct 17mm gears and holes for 6mm studs especially for your early engines!
These pumps are different as the oil pumps used in 1200cc 34DIN HP (40 SAE) engines from 1960-1967 with 21mm gears we sell under BBT # 1805-08
If you want to boost your oil flow we also have a Heavy Duty Pump for all engines up to 1967 with 26mm gears for higher output under BBT # 1805-18
or a more economic version under BBT # 1805-181
All these early BBT pumps have correct 6mm holes for early engines with 6mm oil pump studs.

For the Ghia lovers we have some extra metal in stock now.
These are the front parts of the inner fenders that carry the bumper brackets BBT # 0829-1
The square open near the top fits right over your fresh air inlet in your nose. We stock the fresh air inlets HERE
These parts come to the program because we actually used these on our own restorations, so we know they fit and fulfill the job as designed for.
Get rid of these nasty rotten inner fenders and replace with these, to get a clean spare wheel well area under your front trunk.

This little hook should be found on the side of the backrest from the rear seat for your beetle sedan up to 1967 (standard beetle till end of production).
It holds the rubber strap BBT # 0737 that prevents your rear seat back to snap forward while braking.
Pretty annoying especially when your baby is on the back seat!
In the 181, Kubelwagen, Thing, Trekker or whatever you want to call them, it holds the braket for the backrest down, when not in use.
Protect your assets and beloved ones with this little hook…

Last but not least this week… We finally got the drive shaft seal up to 1960.
This will fit the split case transmissions only.
The larger collar makes sure you can’t push this drive shaft seal to deep, as split case transmissions don’t have the inner edge yet as later transmissions that hold the drive shaft seal in place.
The later model drive shaft seal BBT # 1416 will fit equally but you might push to far inside, where it can start leaking.
Correct high quality parts for perfect fitting.

This week we mark our final product in the picture for 2020 as well.
To end the year we’ve selected a few parts that do not exactly sit in the same category or model, however, we feel they deserve some space in our bi weekly update.
Another quality reproduction part made by BBT, these are often rusted as they sit just under the bumper taking all the road dirt and rain spray your bus throws up. A perfect replacement for those in love with the sound of a pea-shooter.
1066-020 – exhaust tip – Type 2 07/59-07/67
Last but not least an item that BBT took very serious as there were no perfect replacements available. This deflector is found in the rear brake drum and they have the significant task to prevent, oil that’s escaped from the gear box via the swing axle, getting onto the brake lining. Made by BBT, using a perfect NOS sample
