I hope all BBT Blog readers are as interested as I am in production processes,
I was very happy I could see part of the weaving of a new production upholstery material for SO34 Westfalia. I’m even more happy I can share these pictures with you, its pretty impressive,
For those who don’t know, we let weave the 4 styles early Westfalia fabrics in a period correct way to create same feel, style and looks like back in the day. No compromise!
We’re still looking for a decent sample of early Westfalia curtains, (the yellow one with that special ribble in it) (NOS or as close as we can get) to make a perfect reproduction in period materials and weaving Technics as well.
Enjoy the pictures, and look for the end result!
coloring teh materials is a process on its own…
this is pure experience, not for the faint at hearted!
first weaving process finished
ready to start to real production now….
in the second and final step the square treats are weaved in , the material is coming from above, imagine this goes ate a relatively high speed!
all information about the weaving process, inquiries, or information about our Westfalia fabrics can be get on Bob@BBT4VW.com
Fresh arrived from the country of Cowboys and James Dean, a very well looking 1972 T2a/b is for sale now as an easy project for restoration… it got the looks for sure!
A pretty complete and very straight bus, that needs an engine and rocker replacement.
Cool striping to their part of the job, just looking good!
No rear bumper, no engine, sad but reflects the price off course!
Interior is pretty complete and nice, with its original seats, and a decent headliner….
Welcome in the drivers compartment, imagine yourselves behind the wheel!
Cab floors are not too bad… when we first saw the rockers we thought to leave it alone, but an up close inspection did me buy the bus, it deserves to being rescued as it don’t need that much!
Nice and dry, surface rust underneath, as said, rockers is the main part to worry about, but only rockers isn’t that bad yet! And the sliding door rocker it-selves looks still good, its especially the part behind….
Cool looking and waiting for you!
