Whilst we're in the Volks-mood with lots of old air-cooled Volkswagen pic's being sent around, I thought I'd share some photo's I took at the Ace Café in north London, prior to us going to the vintage VW meeting at Bad Camberg.

Tom and I were joined by my VW buddy Steve Hill and we spent the evening checking out the interesting cars people had brought along including a split-window Bug. The Ace Café is a very cool place to hang and has a 1960s theme with a passion for cars, bikes and rock'n'roll. There are car and bike events held most evenings and one of the best times to attend is on Air-cooled VW Night which is held once a month. Enthusiasts bring their VW rides along for an informal display in the parking lot, hang out and have something to eat and drink. It's a real social occasion. When we visited on June 21 the evening was also open to owners of T4 and T5 buses too.

After checking out all the cool machinery out front, we went inside to chow down on some good old British fish and chips with mushy peas. Delicious! It was getting dark just after 10pm and as the cars gradually drifted off into the night, we stayed a little longer to chat and check out the merchandise available in the small store inside the café.

If you're ever in London, be sure to check out the Ace Café and share in over 70 years of history. Even if it's not a VW night, you're sure to have a good time. It's located on the North Circular Road in the Stonebridge neighbourhood of north-west London. You won't be disappointed!
