6 juillet 2013 - Cars for Sale

sometimes we get asked like how we get cars in and out containers, last week our good friend of “Da House” Dave Warren, a real professional photographer was here and made a beautiful feature of unloading a car from a container…. a rock solid 1974 super beetle (that’s 1303 for Europe) blessed with a small engine fire, (everything looks worse like it really is) and I don’t think, this baby needs that much to come back on the road… but first the unloading part!

Let the story start!

Another day in the BBT warehouse….

001 another container rolls in, straight from Dallas Texas002 on board our feature car, nicely loaded by yours truly on his last US trip, see previous Blog Posts in the travel section…

003we build a custom ramp, after all the years we became pretty handsome with the nail gun….:)
004 car had an engine fire, nothing bad, except it makes up for a cheap cheap cheap project! 004a we start to free the wheels, they’ve been blocked with side wood and wood before and after the wheel, and strapped down with ropes…005 get everything out underneath….006 then we lift the whole ramp just enough to knock the pillars from underneath, so we can sink and incline the ramp so the car can be slowly taken out without touching the doors…007 precision forklift work for the helpers, also how to lift a convertible on its rear suspension and chassis strengtheners require some experience…008… and out it is!
010 and this is how the ramp looks empty…:)011 and what is the feature car???

a 1974 Super beetle 1303 project, kind a cool and especially solid survivor, except for the floorplates…
