BBT was chosen to transport a real special car from the USA to Europe… A Rometsch Beeskow convertible,
the car reminds me very strongly to my green one from back in the day (that’s black now and residing in Japan)
yesterday the container arrived safe and sound and was unloaded on BBT premises… the Rometsch liked very much he was welcomed by a very nice Belgian sunny weather!
Special delivery truck, forwarder was not aware of the fact we have our own loading dock, but this was fun too! Just put it down to the ground baby…. sailing in the air….:) ground zero…. Open the doors, and look at the gem…. peeep! Wowh, stunning…. every angle beautiful! here it comes out, welcome back on the old continent baby…. handled with care! not hard to imagine this car won several contests of most beautiful body line back in its days…. Dashboard let You dream of yesteryear! com’on, step in, we drive You home….:) the back is even more beautiful…. and now You go back to sleep, next week we bring You to your new house…..
this is a real sad moment…. saying bye a very last time to somebody You like is hard thing to do…
Yesterday my very personal friend, and VW goeroe alike, Axel Stauber passed away after an uneven and totally unfair battle against cancer… I’m deeply shocked today and in a very sad mood…. why is there always the good guys that have to go?????
I shall remember Axel (left on the picture) always laughing’ like here in California a couple of years ago, together with another good friend Shin….
Axel leaves a beautiful daughter behind, and all our thoughts goes to her….
Axel, thanks for all you did to the VW world…. You where a great guy, nobody ever will realize how important you’ve been for our hobby, that we both call a passion… I will miss you buddy, German swap meets will never be the same to me anymore….

just back from 1st of May Vw meeting in Hannover….. bigger as every edition before, large crowds… unbelievable how many people I met… due spending too much time in traders village I was not able to take pictures of all the cool cars out there, I’m sorry for that… too much taking….. but all started good on the way up… sunrise was marvelous beautiful….
I left 5 o’clock in the morning… the A2 Autobahn (East West main axle) looked very cool at sunsrise!
that early on a bank holiday German Autobahn driving is pure fun… and no speed limits makes you cover load of distance in short times…. high speed driving, the safe way! Don’t try this at rush hour!
passing cars driving to the show at sunrise is beautiful, at least You know you’re going the right direction….
at the show one of the first stops was the swap booth from the Hessisch Oldendorf team… Christian Grundmann, Axel Struwe and yours truly when I handed over the base for the hood crest for the Hessisch Oldendorf city sign… a BBT sponsering to this marvelous show coming up at the 4th weekend of June! Make sure your inscription to the show is all done and settled to receive your personal copy!
still managed to take one car on my lens…. this baby attracted crowds all day…. crazy combo!
the show was simply crowded, and absolutely the highlight of the German VW movement every year… don’t miss out next year. I promise to get your more pictures next edition….keep the (VW) spirit alive…..
