Pretty unknown but so nice to drive through, the Dolomites mountains with many extremely beautiful mountain passes… Yihaaaa!
That’s what we call “winding roads”….. yes we drove the buses there!
The buses performed flawlessly….
We took a break in Cortina D’Ampezzo for the night as season was real slow we got a super deal in this nice hotel… it was all ok, except breakfast was kind of poor… but I kind a liked this picture…
I could post a thousand pictures, but this one stands out a little bit for me…
Now we had tested passes enough to do the real work tomorrow…. going up the Grossclockner! Stay tuned!
When dark fell, and heat was extra ordinary Davids pick up decided it was about time to break it clutch cable…. bummer….. Thank God I had a spare one with me, in my magic box…so in less than an hour we’ve been back on the road…
but still we arrived late… and couldn’t take pictures anymore…:(
Next day we rented a small boat, was fairly inexpensive, but the real Italian way, (30 euro more as advertised, we paid with a smile) The views from the water was beautiful!
Saying bye to our Hotel in the very very south of the Garda lake in a small city called Pischiera) a Hotel we can real well advise to anybody, and also here prices are “negotiable”…:)
we drove to the far North of the lake, very different…
Riva, where they used to make the best speedboats ever, was a long time on my list already… and it didn’t disappoint neither!
Riva is so nice, Man can take easy a couple of 100 pictures… per hour….:)
so after Riva we’re headed for the mountains, “I Dolimiti”…. those pictures will come tomorrow…. stay tuned…
The last picture for today is for David, his way of an art picture…. cool huh
We started our way back the monday after the show…. driving extremely nice Chianti roads….
We passed many little towns, known and unknown, with beautiful Italian names…
Until we reached Florence… a magic city with more public art as any other city in the world I suppose…
Buildings are very impressive… Florence did not get its name as top attraction for nothing, that’s for sure…
From Florence we drove to Bologna, more culture…
unfortunately the city center and most beautiful things to see was kind of construction area as it seems… not a lot we could see this way…:(
So let’s grab some local foods, wawh, this was real good… and the local beer too!
the little streets let us dream away… temperature was above 40°C we’ve been almost melted…:(
Streets were empty, maybe because of the heat?
So went on the road again… as of the temperatures we decided to drive to the Lago di Garda, (the Garda lake) and cool down a little…
