Early buses are so cool!
For all of us to enjoy between our Easter eggs!
Happy hunting!
Easter weekend started.
Easter is a celebration of new life, and maybe even more, new hope.
Also for our little Volkswagens we restore, there’s also a new life, new hope.
Let us introduce our new products for this week.
Our new products might bring new life and new hope to your beloved Volkswagen.
Happy Easter to all, if you don’t find your eggs, you can simply order BBT parts instead…
Let’s kick off what you don’t see…
BBT tooled up for the 72-79 bay window splash pan
The splash pan protects the pedal mechanisms on the underside of your bus from splashing water and road dirt.
A splash pan is necessary to give your pedal operation a long life.
We made our tooling from an absolute German NOS part what results in a perfect part, in quality, measurements and fit.
A proud addition to the BBT Silver Weld Through line of high quality sheet metal.
BBT carries other years splash pans as well HERE

Volkswagen 181, Thing, Trekker, Kubel and/or Safari lovers beware!
BBT now stocks the rockers for these most beautiful square Volkswagens for immediate delivery.
Rockers are a weak point of these basic open cars.
These in and outside rockers will help to repair these areas as it should.
They come with correct mounting points and reinforcements, but still need some common sense or craftsmanship to install…

Let’s make our ventilation grill family more complete!
Volkswagen beetles got these plastic grills behind the quarter windows from 1971 models onwards.
Besides ventilation the main reason was to let the air out of your car when closing your beetle airtight doors.
This gives less pressure inside the car and is more pleasant for driver and passengers.
These grills have never been used on Standard models.
Deluxe models had an extra chrome trim around these grills, it’s exactly this model we introduce here.
Our complete black and complete chrome quarter grills can be found HERE

For this week’s product in the picture we put a spotlight on the front torsion arms for the late split window bus.
BBT’s connections have been able to secure the left over stock from the Volkswagen factories, a huge load which is now readily available from the BBT shelves.
If your arms or sleeves are worn don’t hesitate to replace them with new original arms, more original they will never come anymore – can it get any better??
These also fit Brazilian buses from ‘67 onwards.
1379-220 – Torsion arm upper – Original – Bus 07/63-07/67, Bus Brazil 01/67-2014
1379-225 – Torsion arm lower – Original – Bus 07/63-07/67, Bus Brazil 01/67-2014
Since we’re talking front beam parts and as you may be looking to replace (or stock up on) the torsion arms we would suggest to inspect the needle bearings which sit in the front beam.
They can wear out over time especially on buses that have been sitting for a long time and/or haven’t had the beam serviced regularly.
On the ends of the beam are GREASE NIPPLES that are the main gateway to greased up and properly working needle bearings.
Great quality bearings available from stock, sold each.
1396-350 – Front beam, needle bearings – Bus 07/63-07/67
Finally, and to finish within the same topic when the above parts are on your wishlist then we would suggest to add the below seals.
We all know that seals have an expiry date.
So when replacing torsion arms and or needle bearings then also change the seals.
They prevent dirt and moisture from getting into the front beam and failing in doing their job properly it can cause all sorts of trouble!
These seals are made by the OE manufacturer and BBT is the only supplier to supply them.
And fairly inexpensive too!
So don’t hesitate, fit the best – fit original!
Order them here at BBT, sold per set (4) pcs.
1373-20 – Torsion arm seals, 4 pieces, Original – Bus -07/67

The BBT news team wishes you a relaxed and happy Easter weekend!
Tuesday we got the long awaited container with IGP sheet metal.
We moved over the storage from the floorplates to our new warehouse system.
A lot more easy to unload containers, a lot more safe for our order pickers…
Enjoy the pictures…
