Just back in time to BBT HQ office to present you two lovely first paint buses… we love first paint as there’s nothing to hide, camouflage, less or more…
Ladies and Gentlemen, let me present You…
The 1963 Standard Kombi and 1978 Bay window Sportsman camper!
Let’s start this cute Splittie first… not for the average guy, this a first paint survivor, looks kind a titty at first glance, but look close and You discover a marvel!
Rockers needs replacement and looks ugly, but besides of that this is a very easy project in contrast what I see on internet lately being restored!
First paint don’t hide… this is a safe buying, no compromises to make, you see what you buy, a cool old straight bus… make it yours…
Cool roof rack adds to the fun, is this not the kind of bus every real bus-lover would like to touch and make it a cool cruizer? I do for sure!
Inside we made a full width rock and roll bed, that we had laying around, if you don’t need we’re glad to keep… Loading floors needs replacement too, but with the good reproductions available it’s not that hell of a job anymore….
Cabin is like it should, still supports original seat frames , unmolested and complete dash, pretty solid cab floors, hmmm, Yammie!
The nice for this baby is underneath… Original metal gives so much peace of mind, no rather peace for soul!
This baby runs, drives and brakes, always a nice point to start from!
Our second arrival today is a pretty special one… a very solid 1978 Bay window sportsman camper, in first paint, some surface rust, but that doesn’t take the solid part away!
Pushed by its strong 2.0 litres engine this baby runs like it should, also brakes seems to be fine, but needs some adjustment, anyway, as always we advise full service before taking cars like this to the public road anyway, don’t spoil your investment…
Surface rust it’s a pitty, but still we prefer instead of structural rust!
Where can you find complete bay windows at a moderate price these days? Yes at BBT… Westfalia’s become way to expensive for many, buy a Sportsman camper for only half of the price! and actually they’re finish is nice as well!
Some serious cleaning might give this baby the look you might like?
The cozy interior at the back!
Walk Through to enjoy all from your bus from the inside…
Yes, dry metal underneath… don’t think about welding too much, a bay window is not easy, start from a solid project!
Pop top is fully functional, tent needs replacement..
This 1978 is a cool driver, a bus with minor needs in a very affordable budget. your first Bay? This is a perfect one, Drive, enjoy fix all at the same time time… welcome to the wonder wold of bus land!
