Last weekend BBT’s entire crew and partners had their 2013 start-off party which took place in Kattendijkdok/ Antwerp-city. Arlette & Bob wanted to test our ice skating skills on the Badboot (Bathboat) which gets converted in winter time to an ice rink.
The cheerleaders…
As it should be in a good team, the most skilled ice skaters always were present to help those who made their first steps on the ice…
… Unfortunately, they couldn’t be at everyone’s side to prevent them to go down…
… Isn’t it Werner?… For your information, he didn’t hit that wall very hard but the thought does it all…
Nice fly by from Tim, our newest warehouse team member.
We even had our rescue team available for the worst cases… Pascal gets some help from Bart which seemed to be the best skilled ice skater in BBT’s team.
a quick fly by and hello from BBT Bob.
Afterwards… The party; Still offshore on a to party boat converted ship, with music, foods and drinks.
And the photographer also enjoyed the Antwerp docks view.
Over two years we searched for a way to reproduce the tailpipe for bus 1959 to 1967… although first production not completely finished yet it looks like we came a long way, this for years obsolete product will be available again soon !
Quantity’s are always cool….
…bare metal, just finished…
…and finally painted, ready to ship to BBT HQ, we can’t wait to receive….
Yes! we did it again! Another real Kubelwagen, unknown to the real world, we scored in Greece! Straight from the barn, thanks to some serious hunting from some serious friends…
Was tucked behind a safe gate….
Thanks to some German Friends the car was transported by them to Germany and from there we loaded in one of our BBT vans on our way back to Belgium… tight fit, ask BBT driver Guido!
but we got it home, it’s all there… very very special car to us, as it’s a special delivery from the factory, “Tropen ausfuhrung” so really made to play in the Sand of the Sahara! We never saw this before…
Build on April 28 1942, very early in this case! As it had to survive three years in the war! In general Kubel wagens been built with a life expectation of about 6 weeks if I remember right… so, yes, this was a little above the average…:)
Model 82 S.A. (Sonderausfuhrung)
enjoy the pictures.
This car still need some works, but it’s hardly touched besides keep it a driver as long as it could after the war, don’t blaim these poor people, it was all they could afford… the nice thing is all ID plates are still original and intact on its place, for a special delivery car its the most important You can ask for if You agree, there is no nonsense here… it’s also fun to buy an unknown car, instead of a car that went already through 15 other collectors hands, this is virgin, a perfect car in our Virgin Outlaw philosophy…
