Dieselstrasse 35, every VW nut do know this address in his head…. The samba felt real all right on the parking lot!

DSC01518_blog

It was a couple of years ago since I was here last so always cool to come back, especially as they had a special exhibition about Prototypes….

DSC01521_blogahhh WordPress don’t like to flip over pictures, sorry for that….

cool cars on display!

DSC01522_blog This one is a real cool version of a milkman truck of modern times…:)

DSC01525_blogWeird creatures never came to production, but helped develop other models….

DSC01527_blog uh Golf holiday limo, welcome to your resort!

DSC01530_blogImagine this one on the streets…

DSC01533_blog Type 3 convertible, I saw it a zillion times, and still think it’s a shame it never made it to the production lines….

DSC01535_blog modern gear…

DSC01538_blog so weird , You do recognise a 411, but still different…

DSC01539_blog wowh, a straight competition for a Volga if You ask me… the USSR was probably seen as a potential market back then…:)

DSC01540_blog hmmm not to bad, a stretched Phaeton, this is about the limit from an overstated understatement….

DSC01541_blog Rometsch taxi that’s actually a Messerschmitt, (not Messerschmidt!!) made in Frankfurt….

DSC01543_blog Prototype 34… now look at the body lines on the rear fenders, how beautiful is that??????

DSC01548_blog D&S, I must admit I never saw this car before…. Marc this one is for You!

DSC01549_blog woehoe, when is the track day for this beast?

DSC01551_blog My personal all time favorite of the museum, Meyer Hagen laddertruck… way to long out in the front, the construction of my French laddertruck is actually better, but still this is one of three real deals existing in the world that I do know off…

DSC01552_blog

where is Scooby Doo?

DSC01558_blog I kinda liked this one…. pure lines…

DSC01564_blog and for sure I liked this one, always given priority, everywhere!

DSC01568_blog Brrrrr creepy…..:)

DSC01575_blog 5 o clock they close the doors, we needed to go… but still very cool, we enjoyed fully!

DSC01578_blogTill next time we’re off to the next adventure in the city of Volkswagens!

5 mai 2015 - Inside BBT

No less then FIVE!  Type 34 Karmann Ghia’s on our parking lot, all of them been the much desired early models (pre 64),  not an everyday view for sure!

DSC01012_blogAfter our recent discovery (and rescue!) of three early type 34’s in Northern Californian mountains we do have no less as 5 Type 34’s in stock at moment of publishing this blog post!

DSC01030_blogBeing all 1962 and 1963 models this is an awesome fivesome… cool views for the real Type 34 obsessed guy! And the  Ghia lover as well!

DSC01045_blogFor sale! Let’s start with this October 1962 build model.

DSC01047_blogFor sure a good body against most European rotten finds, this car needs floor plates and welding in front and rear trunk.

DSC01049_blogBody is straight and car is farmost complete! missing some parts of the tail lights and the middle headlights…

DSC01051_blogDoes look cool from every angle and for being of 1962 vintage it’s a real nice untouched car!

DSC01054_blogThe well coveted Television style push buttons for all controls are still in place! This is  one of the very typical “early only” feature.

DSC01057_blogDash is all complete….

DSC01065_blogAs said, the body is in a general good condition, all corners are solid and do require only minimal work.

DSC01085_blogThis can be yours…. just inquire at Bob@BBT4vw.com

DSC01093_blog Second we do have this october 1963 build White color Type 34 coupe. This car is sold already and will start a really nice life in France….

DSC01093a_blog Third we do have a real November 1963 build 1500″S” model. This car is FOR SALE! and can be yours anytime soon!

DSC01094_blog This car has an electric sliding roof as an original factory option!

DSC01096_blogAlso a real good body but do need slightly more work as the red and black one… the license plate and frame are NOT included in this sale.

DSC01099_blog Floor plates need to be changed, and rockers have some weak points, although they do not have to be changed completely.

DSC01101_blogAlso this dash is very complete!

DSC01116_blog Isn’t this the kind of nose we’re all want to see when checking out a car? The nose of any Ghia (and Type 34 in particular) tells You more than a thousand words…

DSC01125_blogAlso the corners are in more than a decent condition!

DSC01127_blogPower plant is still the Original 1500S unit.

DSC01139_blog This car has till the very weird original Karmann Ghia Badges on both side of its front fenders.

DSC01140_blog S logo’s still in place.

DSC01141_blogLast but not least we do have our Italian spec one repaint april 1963 build Grey Type 34 coupe with white roof. This car is also FOR SALE! A car in very decent condition, and after a mechanical check up al ready to drive!

DSC01142All information on our Grey Type 34 You can find on this link;

http://www.virginoutlaws.com/en/cars/karmann-ghia/1963-early-type-34-karmann-ghia.html

DSC01214_blog We just can’t get enough, some more general overviews! The last in the row, also an all original red paint Oct 62 build 18.000 miles original car is from the private BBT collection and unfortunately is not for sale.

DSC01225_blogOne more shot from the back,  a line up of Thight 34 asses all lined up for our pleasures, yes we’re Type 34 fetish for sure!

DSC01232_blogWe do find them, don’t we?

4 mai 2015 - Fun

[bws_pdfprint]

After may 1st, we spend the night in Hannover, as we were exhausted (and getting older year by year) , after a healthy breakfast we headed of direction of Wolfsburg…

DSC01302_blog In Wolfsburg local guy and friend from every time Björn Schewe awaited us with his daily mango grun 1960 beetle…..

DSC01315_blog He guided us professionally to where we wanted to go…. where my samba bus served as passenger and radio car from 1960 till end of the seventies… the roads became smaller and smaller…..

DSC01318_blogWowh, we drove just between the gliders… my samba was so happy, I had hardly to steer… he felt he was back home believe me!

DSC01319_blogThe people from the club where real happy too! Really cool, and granted us space for a perfect picture shoot…

DSC01329_blogWith the president of the club…

DSC01334_blog The bus felt so at home You can’t believe…  she’s sitting like a natural star here!

DSC01348_blog Mandatory picture with its replacement, a T4 Syncro, “Rettungswagen” that’s about the same like what my Samba used to be…

DSC01361_blog one more, we can’t get enough…. (I think I broke my picture record for one day here!)

DSC01364_blog The radio tower that replaced the radio utility of my bus once decommissioned back in the day. (my bus used to be the radio car here back in the day at the end of its career, one of the members of this club had even an intention to build a real tower on it! Thanks God that never happened!

DSC01370_blogWelcome back home baby!

DSC01382_blog What am I doing now????

DSC01392_blog The club used to build a school glider back in the sixties…. we took that plane out (it is decommissioned for many years out of safety reasons) to make a cool picture shoot. now how cool is that?????

DSC01397_blog Double doors are look through, hah!

DSC01436_blog With greets from yours truly, having the time of his life!

DSC01441_blogCom’on cattle, back to your stables…. the old Eichner tractor (one cylinder Diesel) pulled several gliders at once…

DSC01446_blogWhat a day… and even more to come, stay tuned… these people had a really surprise for me…. I will write about it in the next days….
