Here’s a really weird creature from the VW stables…
1964 build Metal wide bed single cab pick up. M code 200.
The weird thing about wide pick up is that this special model (M code 200) is build in the VW factory) no other special models where build inside the factory but always by coachbuilders outside the VW plant. Cherrypickers where build by Ruthmann, wooden wide bed conversions by Westfalia, laddertrucks by Mayer Hagen, campers by Westfalia and so on, but metal wide bed pick ups been built inside the VW factory.
This pick up was restored but not in the perfect way, let’s call it a cheap restoration, this reflects the price, the car drives and brakes like it should. It will be difficult to find a comparable driveable pick up for our asking price, let stand alone a special model.
Looks good from a certain distance, although paint is not 100% it appeals very very well!
Underneath all rot was replaced and the whole undercarriage was painted in body color what makes an inspection very easy. Splash pan nicely in place….
The bed is still original, was also repainted, together with the body, pretty straight for a 50+ years old working truck… but not perfect off course.
Driver cabin could use some TLC, but its all there! All is original too!
For You numbers aficionados, here’s the M plate…
Priced to sell! Don’t hesitate to contact me for price or more detail pictures, or to set up a date and time for a personal inspection…. most easy by email to Bob@BBT4vw.com
Yesterday Inch Pincher III arrived out of the Flat 4 collection, straight from Tokio Japan @ BBT HQ Brecht Belgium….
BBT cooperates with this transport in order our friends from Flat 4 can display their car on their booth at European Bug In this weekend! Let’s all hope they can drive!
Container arrived and was unloaded at BBT HQ ….
Inch pincher III is proudly displayed in the BBT car building till Thursday afternoon (June 25 that is) when we will load it up for European Bug In…. Feel free to come by and preview Inch Pincher III in BBT showroom today or tomorrow….
At the very end of every BBT convoy a couple of BBT mechanics and/or friends do drive with parts, tools and trailers as a “back up”…. this year we had only very few VW breakdowns (one actually really…. )
The worst what happened was the towhitch of one trailer came loose. The great (ex BBT) Gonzo showed he’s still capable to winch just a little better as the extra ordinary…
BBT Pascal, exactly turning 50 last sunday, assisted Gonzo the good way… strong team, what a birthday present for Pascal…. Happy Birthday Pascal!!!
We couldn’t keep these pictures away from you…. enjoy…
….ready for the drive home… @ BBT we do have transport solutions for about everything!
