Looking for a cool “indian summer” driver?
This 181 served fully service at the “Bundeswehr”, the German troops to say so… after service it was sold off and was slightly transformed in a real VW show cruiser….
Lowered in the front and fitted with cool radar wheels it gives a stance with a perfect “cruiser” look….
Body is way better than the average, pretty untouched. Pretty solid, so doors close and lock really well. Rather very hard to find on any 181 these days!
Dashboard is all complete, and ready to guide You wherever you want to go, euh drive….:)
Under the front hood there is still the original factory equipped Eberspächer BN4 fuel heater still installed, no cold feet this winter!
The spare wheel well is all solid… as the rest of the car, the floor plates are little weak in some points but still all there and one piece!
Rockers in and out are solid and good, no remarks here!
This is a full running and driving car, as always we do recommend a service before taking this on open roads, but it performs well and can be driven “as is”…
Cool beast huh? A good beast too! Ready for You!
If you don’t like the wheels or the upgraded looks on this baby, original wheels do come along, including the original hubcaps and the side windows….
Good 181 do not appear regularly on our blog for the simple reason we don’t find good ones. So this time we’re happy we can offer you one that meet our criteria…. if you’re interested don’t delay but contact us today…

Are You ready to enter this drivers cab? This baby starts and drive, as always we do recommend a full service before hitting public roads as US imports we do never know about and are so hard to prognose. The service and tune up we can always provide at cost (labor and parts)
Empty inside, but maybe You can fill it up easily already with your fantasy? This baby rocks and is open to everything, camper, passenger, or both?
Watch the period fuel heater! man what a machine! It’s all part of it! This is a real thing, not fakie doo, or made up!
With years go by and more and more metal parts do come available in acceptable qualities it’s the raingutters of a bus that worries us the most lately, here they’re just fine!
Engine is a later style that performs very well!

We will not sell for restoration this time, as the historical character of this bus would be gone for ever, this is how they used to drive, this is how we try it to help them to survive!
