New car sales dropped by 38% last month, and this gets so interesting… because they say lower sales have to see with struggle in supply chains.
In Europe most cars are sold on order, not like in the USA where you walk into a dealership and drive a new car home a mere hour later.
So struggle in supply chains (which exist of course right now) should only effect the delivery of the new cars not the sales.
There are more simple reasons to find… People treat themselves with a holiday, a dinner, or a wellness. Finally these things are possible again and granted.
With the Delta variant growing every day, a lot of families take a holiday now as fear for new measures are around.
It’s a tricky world we’re living in right now, not very difficult to lose your pedals….
Thank God it’s Friday, we bring you the BBT news, like every Friday, your weekly regularity.
We finally finished them, took us forever, but we’ve never been more happy with the result.
Let us present you our BBT Pop out windows with frame for your splittie bus!
Our frames are made in the right profile of extruded metal just as VW used to make them back in the day.
We choose to sell them complete with glass with E-sign for safety and security.
Glass is mounted in frame with a seal as original.

Backing plates, these are often overlooked or ignored, yet they play such a crucial role in your braking system. They’re positioned right in the eye of the storm and with that we mean they have to withstand all weather conditions, rain, salt, mud, stone chips,.. basically all sorts of debris that’s picked up from the road.
As such they’re often rusted through and in some cases we’ve seen them bent/beaten up and thus they’re ready to throw in the bin! Our backing plates are manufactured in Germany to a high quality and with a perfect fit just like it should be!
The below backing plates that we put in the spotlight are the ones for the early split bus (’55-63). BBT stocks a variety of different backing plates and we’re still enlargng our range, to find our backing plates click here or click the links below.
1291 – Front left backing plates
1292 – Front right backing plates
1293 – Rear left backing plates
1294 – Rear right backing plates
1294-800 – Backing plate, rear right – Type2, 03/55-08/63
The next shout out goes to one of the batteries we stock. This is the battery you need if you’re looking for a Vintage Bakelite look that resembles that period retro style in your splitscreen bus. This battery is slightly larger (and much stronger) as it’s counterpart for the beetle..
The battery measures L 224 x B 173 x H 220. Please note, the battery is empty. Of course we stock battery acid too, this can be ordered with BBT # 0639 and is sold per bottle of 1L.
We recommend ordering 4 bottles to fill your battery. If you look for a similar looking battery for your Typ1, 3 or 14 plse use BBT #0637

0637-200 – Battery 6V, 84 Ah (empty)
The last call out is for the early bay bracket that holds the gearbox mount.
A perfect reproduction made from NOS samples that guarantees a smooth plug and play install.
This bracket is used to install the gearbox mount which, like this bracket, was manufactured from a NOS sample and warrants a perfect fit.
1489-740 for the early bay gearbox mount.

It took 1.5 year to get necessary paperwork for imports from the Algerian authorities for our customer.
Sometimes it’s just nice to remember how happy we are living a in a “free” country.
Congratulations to Frederik and his team for their commitment and perseverance.
