31 mei 2019 - NEW

Last Sunday we had elections in Belgium and it’s so cool to see that the south (French tongue) of the country moved completely to the left, while the north (Flemish spoken) side moved completely to the right-wing. Even extreme right parties gained a lot on our side of the nation’s language barrier.

You can ask why we’re so divided. It’s difficult to understand if you’re not familiar with our nation’s regions….

Taking into consideration the unemployment in the south is roughly 20% more than in the north what makes that around 12 billion Euro of Flemish tax money yearly moves from the north to the south. It created a culture in the south that “free” really exists.

As cherry on the cake the southern politicians  like to dictate what we, in the north, have to do… no surprise we like to be more on our own and become a country with confederal states following the Swiss model… so every region can cook his own soup…:)

Enough of politics now as we need to see what soup BBT cooked this week and which new products we can present that can make our Volkswagen lives easier….

Let’s start with a new family member of the gas tanks BBT carries for you. This was the last missing link of gas tank in our complete line up. We now have all bus gas tanks from post Barndoor all the way up to the end of T25/T3/Vanagon production  ready on our shelves for immediate supply. This 71-73 model is no longer an exception …

Made in the same quality as our other bay window gas tanks, it makes this a worthy replacement.

0492-919 Fuel tank – Bus 08/71-01/73

Other bus gas tanks we carry as follows

0492-905 Fuel tank – Bus 03/55-07/67 OE-quality
0492-918 Fuel tank – Bus 08/67-07/71
0492-920 Fuel tank – Bus 02/73-07/79
0492-925 Fuel tank – Bus 73-74 Injection
0492-926 Fuel tank – Bus 75-79 – Injection
0492-950 Fuel tank 60L (48mm) T25 05/79-08/92
0492-951 Dieseltank 60L (68mm) T25 05/79-08/92
0492-952 Dieseltank 60L (48mm) T25 05/79-08/92

To stay with gas tank and especially the breathing of that, we like to present at the same time a small adaptor rubber that reduces the 11.4mm air filter outlet to the 4mm breather line. The gas tank breather line leads this way all petrol fumes from the gas tank to the aircleaner in order to mix up with the gas mixture and burn it all in stead of let it stink everywhere. We all know how annoying petrol fumes can be in your driving cabin. BBT has everything to eliminate that! This being the last missing link that’s now available.

The original rubber, made in the seventies, wasn’t that good resistant against gas fumes, let alone fumes of modern gas. Many times cracked or even rotted away, we  now have the perfect fit replacement for you to guide those petrol fumes to the right way out through the breather lines and keeps your cabin free of gas odor !

This rubber is original fitted on all late Bay Windows from 1972 till the end of production and can be found in combination with all type of engines 1600, 17/1800 and 2000cc.

Sold each.

After too long and on general demand we decided to bring back the 155 x 15 tyre into our program. The original size tyre for our beloved VW beetles was recently brought back to us by Toyo tyres in a classic profile and height. The Toyo type 310 is the classic tyre that looks just about perfect on your car. It makes sense if they do the effort to produce, we will stock and sell, doesn’t it?

Ready available from our stocks.

3910-155  Band Toyo 310 155 x R15 82S

Too long absent we’re happy it comes back in!

7450-100 Engine lid seal – Bus 03/55-07/67 – TQ

Don’t worry too much about Belgian politics, neither do we, LOL…:) Our small country with a mere population of 11,5 people, 3 languages and 5 governments is very difficult to understand anyway even for us local people, it’s almost like a banana republic, but we don’t have banana trees. Although maybe it’s no coincidence the largest banana terminal on the globe can be found in the sea port of Antwerp! And that really is not a joke…:)

The BBT team wishes you a well relax and unwinding weekend.
