Last saturday was rise shine and early, 1,5 hr drive to Red Barn, a real bus thing going on… kind a slow this year, still many bus buddies, and cool stuff out there….
Thought this was a cool vert on the parking lot… real Cali style…
All about swap, and meeting friends…
In the afternoon I was invited with a couple of friends to check out Rick Clark’s collection… extreme high-end VW collector and Monterey (Pebble Beach) local, Rick is involved in events as McCall event and Pebble Beach Concours, but also associated with the Petersen museum, what you don’t know from this names is more than worth to Google!
Two stories, make this an extreme cool collectors place… and all in style! Rick is also heavily involved in surfing and wild species out of Africa… a,nd he has a job… I don’t know how one man can do that all! An extreme nice and friendly gentleman!

The whole weekend kicked off with Mark Merrill’s open house. Personal friend and very serious VW collector Mark is incredible good to the local VW crowd and other visitors as well!
Friday morning, Ray and Christopher sweep the floors, everything has to be spot on!! Mark is ordering Pizza in the back! (believe me or not!)
On return the afternoon, this cool Ghia is parked before the door…
And a little later this cool 56 vert do arrive as well… many cars, to many to put here!
Mark and his team did an incredible job! Here is the Westfalia display, T1, 2 and 3!
And the special display in the corner, with the recently acquired Aussi car…
Here the utility display, an ambulance (ex BBT) and a fire truck bay window… both pristine condition!

A buddy came down from seattle with this 356 powdered Mango bus, way to cool!

ah, my new acquisition!! A 1967 Kombi, mainly first paint, dry, solid and fully operational! And yes it’s for sale!
Inside the party is in full operation, free food, free drinks, even free cocktails! wowh Mark this is very very high class!!!
Mark has a separate literature room, and also this very special dedicated toy room!
