The final day today… crazy how times flies when you have a good time!
As it was a celebration event they had a cake contest! Wowh some cakes been a real work of art, don’t want to eat them (my doctor tells me its not good for me anyway….LoL)

Saturday night entertainment kicked of with the Boysband The Lemon Brothers… imagine these guys rocked the tiles of the roof! They’re only 11 years old, wowh! Now that was entertainment!
After dinner there was the real work… Tons of Fun band was a formation with no less as 11 musicians all from top top level! The band was/is build up around the former leadsinger from REO Speedwagen… as we all know (at least I didn’t!) REO Speedwagen was grounded in Champaign Illinois not even 100 miles a way from Mid America HQ! What a blast! Especially the horn section was a lust for the eyes and ears!
This is the man! This is the God of VW entertainment in the MidWest! Mike Yager, Chief cheerleader of MidAmerica…. Thanks Mike for putting on such a great event, Thanks for the invitations, thanks for everything!
Sunday morning was very slow, I gave another seminar about car collecting, and why You love certain cars more like others… I also gave one on Saturday and Friday but we forgot to take pictures…:)
The end of the show was coming by and everybody packed up about ready to leave… I thought this was a nice combo…. in the USA at least there’s some place for driving these big animals…
Just a “normal” beetle, but how nice and original restored it was, a real candy for the eye! Mike gave him a serious award in the final price ceremony, as many others! Well deserved! Congratulations…
….on our way back to Chicago…. we’ve been passed by a monster! The brother of White Whale listen to the name of Black whale….:)
Hopefully I find some more time to take some more pictures from the rest of the trip! Stay tuned!

Today i want to show You the Saturday at Mid America’s Funfest VW show…
Crazy custom beetle was laughing me when I walked in…
My personal choice was this real Frickinger Hearse… why? Because its the very last ride in VW You can get! the car was very nice and well maintained, also very original… the owner runs a Funeral company and still use the hearse on special request…. now that’s dedication!

a nice Classic… also check on the spacious grounds of mid America, so nice You have all space You need so You can walk around the cars… and make beautiful pictures…

Very nice Mango green on Seagull grey passenger bus, with a very interesting history…
An instant picture photo bus, extreme cool, the utility of a bus is really without an end, I never saw one like this one before… of course we have pictures all information about this bus on

Something brand new this weekend was the Midamerica fashion show, from all apparel they have, I thought the performance of the young family here is very well done!
Two beautiful deluxe buses nose to nose… yammie!
Tomorrow more about the Saturday evening entertainment and the final day, Sunday… and after that we continue the trip!

The city was Chicago indeed! Applause for all who guessed right…. a lot of reactions!
From Chicago it went to Funfest from BBT distributor Mid America, a VW show we’re invited to as a judge…
with crazy cars!
Back on tracks, wowh, looks like a VW Kettenkrad! and its fully drivable…
Michaël gave us a ride in this awesome all original Coral red 1957 convertible… very nice car, only 50.000 original miles…
What’s wrong with this car? Double check…. never knew a early type 3 bumper did fit a thing…(or 181 as we call them)
Calling the telephone car…:) thought this was fun! Telephone car is made on a beetle chassis, and is fully drivable! welcome to America!
