Thanks to the right tip of Jeroen (thanks for that Jeroen!) I could go and check on this early Ghia coupe… Very straight body, solid too, and especially it was the condition of the nose I fell in love with!

If you’re in nearby Fountain Valley on a saturday morning You can consider breakfast at Papa Z, not only the food is real good, but all local carnuts have a breakfast there too!

14 april 2015 - BBT Travels

Busy from the moment I put a foot on american soils….. as usual!

Three buses been bought and brought to the shipper within 24hr after landing! Off course there was a lot of communication before, and two of the three I saw on previous trips, but still the deal was sealed, the car loaded up and brought to the shippers, no less like three times………… in only a mere 24 hrs….

Number one; a 1958 Panel van, a hell of a bus, in a very healthy mechanical condition… very cool in everything!

DSC00172_blogNumber Two; 1977 Late Bay westy, 100% first paint, needs a lot of detail, never wrecked, super incredible dry and solid, very strong 2,0l engine build by nobody less as famous VW living legend and personal friend Rick Sadler…. this bus belonged  to Rick’s son, for the last 12 years, he was the second owner…. not cheap, but a lot of bus!

DSC00192_blogLast but not least, a one family owned 1977 Champagne edition… the lovely mom bought it brand new in Kansas while living there as her husband was stationed over there, the son got it as a kind of wedding gift.

DSC00205_blog The   baby seat is still on the passenger seat, that was the last time he drove it, the daughter is 23 years old now! All that time it was under a tarp on his drive way, I hunted this bus for quite a while, and paid the price, but I got it on my trailer, and am very happy, especially with part of that history!

DSC00216_blog  24 hours Three cars, I washed my trailer went for a steak, with my friend Rick… should have taken a picture<…:) Thanks Rick!

Many people ask me for my favorite steak house… well if you aver have the change, just try this one… http://www.ruthschris.com/

They’re all over the place, and are really really good, there is other good ones too, but this I can recommend, from me personally and from my buddy Rick as well! enjoy… like we always do!

And me????? Well I’m on my way to my next adventure! Hope not to run in too much traffic….. 91 West, isn’t that bring you to the desert?
