Yesterday we had a blast when we visited splitbus nation 2014 edition.
This bi annual event is only dedicated on Split window buses, and a mere 109 units attended this cool and lay back show!
We drove out in full force, no less as four splitties from our collection (non for sale sorry) drove along…
and we got a nice display as main sponsor off course!
Our little private line up, we do love our babies, oh yes sir!
Splitbus nation is all about lay back bus life, no stress, hang loose!
Yours truly with our two sons, a rather rare quality family moment on picture! ….:) Frederik is now 1.94m and Nicolas at age 12 overgrew mom already! Frederik drove the 1959 family westy with a lot of likes on his facebook I guess!…:)
The Flandria Single cab is one of my favorites of all time… I used to played around Flandria light motorcycles for years before kicking of in VW land! still a weak spot!
Bob Hammond Driver BBT Hans and his girlfriend Leentje talk with BBT fan and one of the drivers behind this show Dieter Tarwe…
This music band was hilarious! All instruments made from trash, but the sound was real recognizable and extreme cool!
Extreme cool combo in our eyes!
Line up full with only splitties, did we love the views? You bet!
BBT’s Limo bounce castle was out in force, and attracted tons of children pure for amusement!
This is what’s all about, a bunch of good weather, a load of buses and all people just “hanging out” welcome to the bus crowd baby!
I got the reaction that this bus would be suit perfectly our Capt. America…. LOL!
Nice high and dry, dessert seeker deluxe….:)
BBT crew up to our next destination… we’re out in force baby!
Crew had hilarious times loading up BBT’s bounce caste again in its own Westy trailer!
Driving back home, I was in the 58 double door walk through, we catched loads of rain, but hey was it worth it? Split window buses are like sex believe me, but just that much different…. Ha!
Complete picture report will come online anytime soon, and will be given notice on our blog….. what a beautiful Sunday!
BBT Hot Rod, the official daughter of BBT in Spain, used to build a lot of Speedster incarnations back in the day…. a speedster was a name given to a sedan beetle converted in a basic two seater convertible… hence the weather conditions in South Spain this was amazing popular in the heydays, roughly 10 to 20 years ago…
To promote the speedster conversions the guys over there made a couple of speedster limo’s to promote the speedsters at nightclubs, restaurants or near the beach and at VW festivals… we stumbled across a couple of the limo pictures from back in the day and thought it would be nice to share with all of you…
This was the first one and even came to Belgium for a couple of months to promote the speedsters in Belgium, we did show at certain VW shows, like VW mania in Hofstade, and one of the best VW shows ever in Belgium was in Aalst… long gone memories, but history for sure!
On my recent trip to Spain walking to a restaurant at the beach in El Campello, hometown of BBT Spain, we came across these life size toys, VW related offcourse….
Sad it was already late and the rental guy wasn’t around anymore otherwise we would have played in the water VW style!
Steve and I had a wonderful time as You can tell from the pictures….
I liked these very much…. Steve put them already on Facebook, but I wanted the regular BBT blog readers informed as well….
