Yesterday was the Big day… Kelley Park, one of the most beautiful VW shows on Planet Earth… in San Jose California…
Here some general impressions for You….
Nick is very happy with his just finished Ragtop…. not a bad drive for a 16-year-old….
Lind shows off his treasure of the weekend, the largest VW inlet manifold that man can get… all ready for the Guinness book of world records…. LOL!
afternoon I drove off to the next destination… where will this road take me????
Yesterday I visit Red Barn swap meet, Here a lot of the hardcore West Coast bus crowd gathers the day before Kelley Park… its more a tradition then anything, and hey, we’re crazy about (VW) traditions, aren’t we?
California had a lot of rain lately, so all was green on the 101 Freeway heading south… so beautiful…
Red Barn stops early, by noon everybody is almost gone, I chilled out a little in my friend Pete’s garden in San Martin, the road up there is also very very cool…
Hey Pete, thanks for that awesome brat! You’re the best brat cook I ever had!
… and later I joined Heather and Reed (a famous VW couple over here) to visit the Winchester house in San Jose…
The name says it all, the lady that build this 160!!! room house was the inheritor of Winchester gun factory (and roller skates, lawnmowers etc etc)… we had a crazy good time and it was very interesting… if your ever in this part of the USA definitely worth a visit…
Tomorrow is Kelley Park… the Golden gate chapter of the Vintage VW club of America’s yearly gathering, so stay tuned for a full report!!!
The whole VW spring show weekend in the bay area of California start in Mountain View in the shop of Mark Merrill, Mark is a very avid collector, and brought together one of the finest pallets of Classic Volkswagens from the entire globe!
The friday night before the other shows he set his doors wide open for everybody to visit…. here some pictures to share to cool atmosphere…:)
so far so good, now i’m off to Red barn… stay tuned for more pictures!!!….:)
