Last sunday a BBT delegation drove to nearby Wuustwezel and attended a general old-timer meeting… weather was very rough with wind and rain, but with a lot of vintage car soul mates its always fun to hang out.
BBT was there “Full Force”
Also many other VW’s like this cool patina panelvan on full air suspension…
Ex BBT PreA from friend of Da house Pascal…
VW 411 from long time BBT fan Luc. This guy is actually one of the friends from back in the day who convinced me to start-up BBT parts store a mere 28 years ago….
beside VW’s off course a lot of other vintage driving iron…
Big american boat, sat cool on the lawn…
Ex BBT oval convertible, sold to this owner in 2001, restored the right way and a regular in our convoys
Early El Camino, still one of the coolest Chevy’s money can buy…
Now this is what we call patina, what a cool small truck!
All original DeSoto, very low mileage, original sold new in belgium, never restored, never painted, A real yammie car for purist original lovers…
Patina all over, Opel Rekord 1200cc in first everything!
Tractor division was slow, more than likely because of the weather, but still this Argentinian build “Pampa”, the South American version of the Lanz Buldog! 14litres one cylinder “Glowhead” engine, with big flywheels, a joy to hear and see….
Military division came out in force, no German tin here…except for the Opel Blitz…
We always get weak for Porsche Diesels… I loved this set up, with its fully operational cutter bar, a relevation for its time, antique today…
BBT banner in wind and rain, stay with proud!
Most fun gang of the show, the Honda Camino club, flanked by their “ladies chapter” yes these guys had loads of fun!
Belgium proud… Gillet, made in Herstal….
Despite the weather a beautiful afternoon filled with old iron, always fun, and for being a local show, we enjoyed a lot, and even more!
Zelem is a very small town and part of Halen, near Diest, about 1hr drive east of Antwerp. Every year they organise a very cool general old-timer meet. A couple of BBT’ers teamed up and drove over yesterday. The BBT Bounce bus was in place…..
On the way up….Belgium has cool country roads as well! Enjoy the view out of my front windshield! Ain’t life always a holiday looking through the windows of a splittie?
Once arrived we set up boot, and pulled out a large BBT banner on our laddertruck as usual… BBT was here!
Some early American iron was on display…
One of Europe’s most iconic brands ever made… Panhard, very special, and very inventive for its time…
Where’s my pink Cadillac? ….more American Iron… kind a cool and so different like a Volkswagen!
Our 1960 Vert made it also to this show, always nice to see one of your own cars in the line up!
Easy & relax strolling the streets and catch some nice views of a very very wide spectrum of oldies…
Opel Manta… fond memories, one of the first cars I ever had, for driving autocross, long before I had the legal age for driving a car on the public roads… yes I’m a car guy, my whole life already actually….:)
Some VW’s on display as well off course!
But there was more, like a very large display of Vintage motorcycles… many long forgotten Belgian brands, Gillet, FN, Flandria, You name it, it was all there!
Barn finds… also in motorcycle communities a big thing!
Fantic… crazy italian brand, different bikes… used to have one like these when i was 14 or 15… found it on a local junkyard, this one was better shape though!
Real cool totally unrestored Gillet…. yammie!
Ah, was Gonzo here? No actually he wasn’t but several Iltis on display always remember to our most iconic employee ever!
Display of old tractors was amazing!
Oh yes we do love old diesel tow rigs!
Yammie Volvo… still one of the cars on my bucket lists… when somebody know of a nice 1964 for sale… I might be the buyer!
Tractors been prepared for their tour! Oh yes, these guys drive their vintage iron!
And not only the guys, I was impressed how many ladies drove along as well! It’s a real husband and wife thing… Let’s call that dedication, do you see your wife or girlfriend at the steering on one of those?????
See, feel and smell a Lanz Buldog driving get You all excited, at least it does me!
Another lady driver! On a very iconic and nicely restored Landini!
Color coded sweater for this Lady driver!
What a lot of fun! Kids drove along for free in the tour…
Imagine how much hard work a tractor like this took away from the farmer back in the day!
Old US army truck reminded me to my army days, where we had a cool M62 tow truck in our base, my absolute favorite tow truck ever….
Life music was a cool Rock’a billy band named Hometown Gamblers, sjeez these guys knew how to rock the place!
Afternoon was pretty crowded, a small invasion in a small town! but fun everywhere!
Cool Guzzi, only 250cc under what I have in mind….:)
Even big crowds showed up, the atmosphere was real cool and absolutely not stress full…
Dieter, one of the organisers here, is a real VW friend, I featured his cool Pick up already several times, but playing home this time he had several more of his vintage machinery on display, Dieter is a huge Flandria guy!
Ex BBT Kim hosted us beer and BBQ whole afternoon, thanks Kim it was good to meet up again!
Pascal had a lot of fun with its Bugster (a real homologated Baja kind a bug that was made in Belgium) on the local VW meet in Schakkebroek Belgium. But the good weather made not enough mud in his eyes, even tough the Bugster didn’t show that much of its white color anymore… very funny later on in the restaurant….:)
still pretty white when he started!
