This kombi is a real good survivor, very well survived the test of times! Body is very solid, and nice, and the mechanics been sorted out, so it’s a driver for sure, although we do recommend a small service always before heading for the public roads!
Early bay windows are cool and very sought after… 1969 is a model year with very interesting features… enjoy the pictures!
A cool ride for decent money…another cool VW Classic offered by BBT’s Virgin Outlaws!

Like in 2010 this year the Tall Ships Race also choose Antwerp as one of their ports of entry… this year the Port of Antwerp was even chosen as Start of the race!
Tall Ships race is especially a training for (mainly) youngsters who can learn about life on board, sailing, navigation and so on, they can sail around the world, or they can be partially aboard to their choice, an amazing experience for sure!
Unlike 2010, this year we choose to observe the Parade of Sail and we wanted a skyline of the city as a decor so choose the left bank of the river as our “picture spot”….
We’re happy to share some impressive moments of these beautiful ships with all of you… Volkswagens are cool, but these 3 and 4 mast giants of the ocean make me thrilled as well! For You to enjoy!
Four days all ships been at the Port of Antwerp quays, for audience to visit, for crews to prepare for their magnificent race, for the trainees to start a once in a life experience… Everybody was thrilled and the moment was almost there!
Open the “road”, May God bless the waters…
Crews waved out and goodbye from the sails… unbelievable atmosphere!
Several of our Port Tow Rigs helped these big sailing vessels on their way, and patrolled the river to make sure their was no troubles down the road… here the “Lieven Gevaert” in the back You can see the newly constructed “harbour house” the new pride of the Port of Antwerp…
How massive and impressive these huge giant ships are is very difficult to capture, but it is amazing!
Huge crowds on the right bank to see the action from short distance, another reason we choose for the left bank!
Bye bye big ship, have a safe journey, may God be with You!
Another Cathedral of the sea with the “Onze Lieve Vrouwen toren” Antwerps cathedral of the land (and our city)
This was a huge sailer with no less as 4 masts, wowh, this was like a monster!!!
If green is the color of your choice….
Here one of our giants with the MAS (Museum on the stream) in the back ground, another landmark of Antwerp skyline. in the top of the museum building there’s a two star Michelin restaurant.
The best saved for last… when Italians do something they do it in style… with sailing it is no difference… impeccable outing for the Italian crew on this ship!
What a day… not a VW show, but for sure a day of fun… now…its time for a beer I guess….:) Belgium beer….:)
May God be with our sailors, and may the Belgian delegation win! ….:)
